40 tons of help
Thanks to many a generous sponsor our storerooms in Munich and Coesfeld get constantly refilled with valuable donations in kind such as clothing, shoes, food and materials like tents, camp beds and pots.
All of these aid supplies need to be brought to those who need them most. They need to be brought there as fast and secure as possible. In consultation with our on-site partners – currently in Greece’s north, in the region of Idomeni/Polykastro/Kilkis – we put together transports and get them delivered. We get them delivered because we work cost-efficiently using hauliers and because we only gather what is actually needed. Again and again volunteers operating on-site confirm that the supplies we send them perfectly match the demand – and that they need more.
This project is meant to make sure we can deliver supplies regularly. In contrast to self-drivers using Sprinters or 7.5 ton vehicles, commissioning a haulier isn’t only cheaper, what is more: for the price of a rented 7.5 ton vehicle plus petrol, ferry, catering etc. we get the loading capacity of a semitrailer.
There are people who travel lightly. If, by chance, you are one of them and headed towards Greece and in case you are able and willing to take some additional luggage with you: please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org It makes us happy to see medicines and medical aids end up in crisis regions as fast and direct as possible.
